The Pastors, Steering committee and Church Council all completed a “Readiness survey” (found in The Multi-site Church Revolution; Geoff Surratt, Greg Ligon, Warren Bird; Zondervan, 2006, pp. 57-59).  Responses were given to 25 questions dealing with the categories Clarity of Call, Motivation, Receptive Audience, Leadership, Know-How, Relationship Strengths and Finances.  The four ranges of readiness based upon score were:

  • 25 points or less:  Timing is premature.  To launch a new site would likely lack what is needed for success.
  • 26 – 50 points:  Potential is present but not quite ready.  Continue to pray, learn and plan until time is right.
  • 51 – 75 points:  Readiness is close.  Review strengths and build on them.  Examine weaknesses and compensate as needed for success.
  • 76 – 100 points:  There is a high likelihood of success for doing multi-site.

The average score for all groups together was 75.56.  Excluding the two lowest and the two highest scores, the average was 75.86.  The Pastors, Steering committee and Church council all believe this demonstrates a readiness on the part of LBC for a multi-site strategy.
