Welcome to the Multi-Site Area of the LBC website!
Leonardtown Baptist Church exists as a multi-site congregation. Besides our original Leonardtown campus we have a group that meets at the King's Christian academy in Callaway, MD. The Callaway campus of Leonardtown Baptist came into existence in September of 2009. Meeting originally in the Christian Life Center at the Leonardtown campus, the group grew strong and in January of 2010, relocated to the King's Christian Academy. Originally, services were held in the cafeteria area, but in September of 2010 the group moved into the gymnasium, where they continue to meet. Bible studies for all ages are also held at the Callaway campus prior to the worship service each Sunday.
The multi-site vision is to have future campuses located at other strategic locations throughout St. Mary's county. This will be accomplished as the Lord leads the church body to do so. This multi-site vision is an effort to reach the county with the good news of Jesus Christ.
The information found here is intended to acquaint you with what led us to consider a multi-site plan for reaching out to our community. It includes a message preached to the congregation by Senior Pastor, Mark Dooley, as well as summary statements used in a question and answer session held for the congregation and other various resources used by the Steering Committee as they researched the multi-site approach.
As we continue to go forward in the days ahead, the Lord has given us an incredible opportunity to be a part of something great that He is doing. Any effort to reach people with the gospel is an exciting adventure in obedience, and God honors such faithful obedience. When we think of the Great Commission and using the multi-site approach as a means of accomplishing the Great Commission, we should think of four rhetorical questions:
If not this, what?
If not here, where?
If not now, when?
If not you, who?
May we all catch a vision for seeing men, women, boys and girls come to faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
