The LBC Prison Ministry's mission is to exhort, equip, and assist the Church in its ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families. A large part of this equipping is providing high-quality training in how to minister to a group that, for the uninitiated, can seem remote, frightening, and unpredictable.
Prison Fellowship offers thorough training as well as ongoing support and encouragement for in-prison and post-prison ministry, as well as training for outreach to the families of prisoners, especially their children.
Ministry Statement:
As a para-church arm of Prison Fellowship, founded by Chuck Colson, Prison Ministry of Southern Maryland is a body of volunteers from any church or organization in the area of Prince George, Charles, and St. Mary's counties of Maryland, who provide worship, discussion, visitation, gifts, mentoring, camping, and community services to the incarcerated men and women who attend services and who ask for our services.
