What do you mean by Seek, Study, Serve, Share?
At LBC we desire to be intentional in making disciples. Seek, Study, Serve, Share is the process by which we do that. Our goal is to create an environment where followers of Christ are enabled to:
Seek the Lord in worship
Study the Word in small group fellowship
Serve the Body in ministry
Share Christ with the world through evangelism
We believe that true discipleship leads a person to incorporate all facets of this in their life, so we constantly remind ourselves that we are to be people who seek, study, serve, and share.
What is the worship like at LBC?
The worship services are centered on the Word of God which is always relative to our lives. The hymns and songs during our worship times are blended. There are times when we sing traditional hymns and there are other times when we sing contemporary songs. We know it is the message of what we sing that matters. At times we utilize a full orchestra, and at other times it is only the piano or a praise band. Our goal is not to be labeled one way or another, but that whatever we do will be God-honoring. This type of worship is consistent between all worship services that are held (8:30 and 11:15 AM at the Leonardtown campus and 10:30 AM at the Callaway campus).
What is the Sunday School like at LBC?
We have Sunday Schools that meet with groups for all ages at both campuses. The Adult and Youth classes are called Bible Fellowships and have the goal of helping us more effectively enable people to seek, study, serve and share. At the Leonardtown campus these groups meet from 9:45 - 11:00 AM. At the Callaway campus, they meet from 9:00 - 10:10 AM.
Is there a youth ministry at LBC?
Yes, in fact there are two groups available. On Sunday evenings our Senior High group meets from 6:30 - 8:00 PM, and on Wednesday evenings our Middle School group meets from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. In addition there are numerous other opportunities for fellowship and ministry for both groups, and there are times when both groups meet together (retreats, trips, etc.).
Are there children's ministries at LBC?
There are many young families that attend the Lord's church at Leonardtown. If you consult the Ministries menu, you will notice a "Children's" section that gives some of the pertinent details about what we offer for children. LBC has an active children's Sunday School as well as a full AWANA program. In addition there are other activities just for children. Through any of a number of events and activities children can easily find a place to fit at LBC.
How do people dress at LBC?
In a variety of ways. Some will come each week in their "Sunday best" (coats and ties for men and dresses for women). Others will dress less formally but still neatly. LBC does not have a dress code, although we do strive to give God our best in all areas, including our appearance when we come to worship.
